Down to the river to pray

Last Wednesday, I went on a run with some friends to a church in Port Meadow. It was a perfect morning for a run--cool and damp--and you couldn't ask for better company.

[I mean. Am I right? I'm completely right.]

We ran out to a small church in the Oxfordshire countryside. It is a beautiful spot, and so quiet. So, so still. It is a perfect place to just think and pray.

[the morning breaks.]

I'm planning on a return visit. It's far away from me (I'm in southeast Oxford, and Port Meadow is in North Oxford), but the destination is worth the trip.

And it doesn't hurt that the journey is as beautiful and as green as the pictures show:

Oh, sisters, let's go down. Down to the river to pray.
